Tea bread circa 1980

Tea bread circa 1980 Vintage Tupperware mixing bowl The old family recipe book. I loved this simple bread, a bit like a large scone, as a child. Sliced and served with butter and jam. Such an easy recipe, until today when I made it I was always under the impression that it was made with tea. The tea in the title however refers to the time of its consumption! Loved being able to serve it to my children, and it does not have to be confined to tea time, it made a lovely supper for me after an evening studying local history supper time, fresh farm butter and home made raspberry jam
